Read and discuss Sarah Morton's Day and Samuel Eaton's Day, both by Kate Waters in order to learn more about the daily life of Pilgrim children. Create a Venn Diagram to compare Pilgrim Girls and Pilgrim Boys.
TASK 2:
Visit here to take a tour of the Mayflower. Students will then print and answer the questions here.
TASK 3:
Think about what you would take on a trip to a New World. Remember there would be no stores to buy the things you usually have and you only have one big box for your entire family. Write and illustrate a list of items your family would bring to the New World.
TASK 4:
Click here or here to print out a family tree. Draw a picture of yourself on the back and complete the family tree at home then return it to school.
TASK 5:
Complete the Venn Diagram to show how your life and the Pilgrim's life are the same or different.
TASK 6:
You will look at pictures of the clothes Pilgrims wore back then. What colors were their clothes? What did the women and men wear? What did the children wear? Did the boys and the girls wear the same thing? How are their clothes like your clothes? How are they different? Choose a Pilgrim woman or man to color for a book cover. Click here to copy pilgrim paper dolls to color and cut out.
