Hello parents, my name is Amanda Walley and I am your child's teacher for this year. I have been a teacher with CMS for the past seven years, all of these at Pawtuckett.
Although I am from Stanley, I moved to Fairbanks, Alaska after I graduated High School. In Fairbanks, I attended University of Alaska-Fairbanks. I then transferred to University of Montana @ Western in Dillon, Montana where I graduated Cum Laude. I have an Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
My belief is that students should take responsibility for their own actions. This is a big theme for my class and our school. I believe that students need to be in charge of their learning with me as their assistant. I let my students know that they will learn nothing unless they put time, effort, and attention into it.
As a mother I am well aware of your desire for the best possible education your child can receive. I love working with children and assisting them in realizing their full potential. I strongly encourage parental involvement at home and in the classroom. Since parents are their child's first teacher, you know your child best.
I believe that all children learn in different ways. By sharing with me information about your child's personality, study habits, likes and dislikes we can work together to contribute to his/her aquiring new knowledge and improving academic skills.
